All of the above include design, commissioning and long-term maintenance. The systems range from off-grid hybrid wind/solar/diesel, to grid connected solar PV and direct wind heating systems
Shetland Wind Power Ltd are actively involved in the PURE hydrogen production facility, based in Unst; catering for the system’s wind energy requirements.
Relevant project management experience to date includes fronting the “Feasibility & Options Study” for the Foula Electricity Scheme Improvements (2003 - 2004), helping ensure continuity in the delivery of the community’s energy demand
Shetland Wind Power Ltd. previously acted in a technical advisory role to the consultants contracted to establish the Renewable Energy Skills Unit at Shetland College.
In addition Shetland Wind Power Ltd. have advised/supervised on the installation of community wind systems in Westray, undertaken commercial and community feasibility studies, completed environmental noise reports for Shetland renewable projects and have designed and are the installers for the Wind 2 Heat project: providing community wind systems to 17 premises throughout Shetland and Orkney
Our team encompasses relevant experience and qualifications, covering: electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering, building work, paint refinishing, government legislation and environmental standards relating to renewable energy installations
Due to consumer requirements, we base all our systems around the principles of safety and reliability
