Systems & Costs

Shetland Wind Power Ltd offer a series of generic systems, tailored to cater for most requirements

The following information refers to Shetland Wind Power Ltd’s most common type of system installation: wind energy. However, please contact us if you require information about alternative renewable energy technologies, as these can also be catered for

With high wind speeds two outcomes arise:

  • Heat losses within a building are at their greatest
  • Wind energy is highly abundant

We can harness this wind energy to replace lost heat, thus making wind power ideal as supplementary or background heating

Background heating from wind helps protect the fabric of buildings and supplement “on-demand” and expensive heating

Shetland Wind Power Ltd offer complete installed turbine packages for the following general costs, all taking into account relevant grants:

2.5 kW –

6 kW –

15 kW –

The values will vary depending on a number of factors including: system requirements and site characteristics

Payback periods of four to five years are easily achievable on each package, with high monetary savings thereafter.

Typical lifespan of each turbine is in excess of 20 years, requiring only routine servicing.
